Combining the world’s most advanced air conditioning technologies with current healthcare services, Petra’s low noise air handling units were selected to create a comfortable working environment for the Hospital Universitario Son Dureta, which will be the largest health facility in Spain’s Balearic Islands, once completed. This facility will operate 1200 beds and employ over 4,000 people across five facilities:

a general hospital, a paediatrics department and three separate outpatient departments. The hospital will host the islands’ reference laboratory, and will be used for specialized tests that cannot be performed elsewhere.

Approximately half of all clinical activities in the Balearics are conducted in Son Dureta.

Petra provided air handling units with a total capacity of 4,760 TR. (17,000 KW).

Many international suppliers had competed for this prestigious project, and the final decision was taken after Petra demonstrated its abilities to meet the hospitals stringent requirements.
