New York – New Settlement Campus

Products: Package Unit . Recently, Petra shipped equipment to New York, to be installed in New Settlement Community Campus located in Bronx. Scheduled to open in 2012, the new campus will include dance studios, an indoor swimming pool, several multi-purpose spaces, playgrounds, amphitheater, and a library. Once completed, the campus will provide quality education for approximately 1100 students and 500 community members.

Petra provided 10 Variable Air Volume (VAV), and Constant Volume (CV) rooftop package units with a total capacity of 2461 kW (700 TR) to create an ideal, operating environment for the New Settlement Community Campus. There were various special technical features for the package units including 4 inch thickness insulation panels; low noise condenser fans; air flow stations; full height access doors with interlock; hot gas re-heat coil for each circuit; hot gas by-pass; and a heated/ventilated vestibule containing the compressors, electrical boxes, control boxes and variable frequency drives. Although the units had a significantly large footprint, each was shipped in one piece including the largest unit that measured 17m(L)X4.5m(W)x2.5m(H) (55ftx14ftx8ft). Before dispatch, the School Construction Authority inspector, the Mechanical Contractor from BP Mechanical, the Control Contractor from Environment Systems, and Petra’s distributor in New York City – MWSK Equipment, examined the units.
